introduction

As a design thought leader with broad creative range and more than 20 years of industry experience, I work to apply design thinking to every problem; bringing to bear my human-centered design practice and facilitation skills. This means translating sometimes complex business needs and requirements, adapting them to the needs and demands of customers.

My experience as a practitioner and facilitator extends to all areas of the design process. I have experience conducting generative and evaluative research efforts, compiling and sharing results and strategy with stakeholders and team members, designing user flows and service blueprints, as well as facilitating workshops and design sprints.

I have built design teams from scratch, evaluating and hiring design talent. I've worked to develop strong business partner relationships with product stakeholders, both internal and external. Over the course of many projects, I’ve connected with countless customers and users; each time working to discover and expose the key ingredients of an effective product strategy: the intersection of purpose and profitability. This has helped me to contribute successfully to product roadmaps for many years. I look forward to helping your team realize the same sort of business value.

Most importantly, I am continuously learning how to lead and develop designers as I work to help my team understand their strengths; and then learn how to play to those strengths every day while discovering new skills and turning that potential into quality deliverables.

process

Process: Discover

Understanding your customer might not be the only thing that matters, but it's the lifeblood of good design. Being able to discern your customers' needs from their asks is also mission-critical for project success.

Process: Conceptualize

Communicating a plan for meeting the needs of customers is accomplished with effective artifacts that demonstrate key processes and workflows. This is where customer-centric design comes to life.

Process: Execute

The design process includes ensuring solid execution against all business goals and design considerations. It's important to consciously build ways of collecting meaningful data to track adoption and success.

Process: Validate

A designer's work continues after go-live. An effective design process accounts for an iterative approach to continue improving on past successes, as well as addressing design shortfalls and failures.
